A Dog's Day Out Founders
In 2004, A Dog’s Day Out opened its first facility in Vienna, Virginia by a father and son team. Since then, A Dog’s Day Out has continued to open additional facilities located throughout Northern Virginia.
We believe in fostering a caring, safe, and loving environment for your dog. Our friendly and attentive staff will care for your dog as if they were their very own. When you leave your dog at one of our large and accommodating facilities, you know in your heart that they are in great hands. Rest assured, your dog will receive the best care, never be bored, socialize with other friendly dogs, and most importantly will be
exhausted and ready for a nap when they get home. It’s a win-win for all!
We encourage you to visit any of our facilities to check out what your dog is missing.
A Dog’s Day Out offers one of the largest daycare spaces you’ll find in Northern Virginia. We also offer the following benefits to you and your AWESOME dog:
Four convenient locations in Northern Virginia
Cage-free dog daycare, boarding, and grooming services at all facilities
Open year-round, including holidays!
Small, medium and large dog play areas.
Rubber flooring and dog playground equipment in all dog play areas.
Kenneling at select locations.
Always clean and safe environment.
Professional, helpful, and dog-loving staff.
Bring your dog to any of our facilities Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm (no appointment necessary). Our evaluation takes about 20 minutes and costs $15.00. During the evaluation, we find out how well your dog interacts with other dogs. Typically, alpha dogs, or dogs who like to be in charge, will not pass our evaluation. Also, if they show aggression towards other dogs, your dog will not pass our evaluation. If your dog fails, please don’t take it personally. We want all dogs to be in a positive, safe, and fun environment where they can play with one another without worrying if one dog takes things too far.
If your dog fails our evaluation, you can still bring your dog in for kenneling which is offered at our Ashburn and Springfield facilities. Also, if you want your dog groomed, your dog does not need to pass our evaluation.
We do offer coupons and special offers. If you like us on Facebook, you will see these offers periodically in your news thread. We also offer coupons and special offers in our newsletters that we send out via email.
Of course! Simply call the facility you would like to go to and schedule a grooming session. Our staff will gladly try to accommodate a date and time that is convenient to you.
Copies of your dog’s vaccinations will need to be presented on or before their first day at A Dog’s Day Out. Your dog will need to be current on Bordetella, Rabies, and Distemper.
We will always have high-end dog food ready for your dog. A small fee applies if your dog is boarding with us. You’ll have peace of mind knowing your dog will not go hungry while at A Dog’s Day Out. During meal time (afternoon/evening), each dog eats alone to ensure they get the proper amount of food and no dog takes from another. However, family pets can also eat together if you would like.
Absolutely. Just let us know what medications need to be administered as well as the frequency. Our staff is highly dependable!
Yes, we have self-serve baths at our Ashburn, Springfield, and Van Dorn locations that are appropriately sized for small, medium, and large breed dogs. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, as well as towels for drying your awesome dog.
We do not use crates. We use Uptown Kennels that are large in size and do not have a top. Your dog will not ever be cramped into a small, tiny space. In addition, the boarding fee includes FREE cage-free dog daycare with appropriate sized playmates if they have passed our introduction evaluation. Also, family pets can always sleep together, no matter if one is a small breed and the other is a large breed. We want your dogs to be happy and feel secure.
